I posted this wrong, ch. 1is on the bottom! The Truth About Forever Part 4 By Melissa and Alecia Alecia’s P.O.V. Me and my sister went through lunch trying to make conversation with Nate and his friends. It was nice not having to sit alone on our first day of a new school, especially seeing how it was with these guys. They were so friendly, but yet for some reason I was kinda getting this weird vibe off them all; I couldn’t explain it. I looked over at Mely for a moment and she was giving me the same look; she was getting the same vibe. I just shook it off though; I wasn’t going to be paranoid about something that was probably just me and my sister’s imagination. “So where did you guys move from?” asked Chase. It was the first time I’d really heard him talk, to be honest it kind of startled me. “Oh umm, New Hampshire.” I answered. “What’s it like there?” Laila asked looking a little excited for some reason. “It’s nice,” Melissa said she took a sip from her Vitamin water and continued. “It wasn’t sunny all the time, I mean it wasn’t Florida or anything, but it was defiantly sunnier than it is here.” She sounded a little sad about leaving NH; I had to admit I was too. “But the cold makes for more ice, which allows us to go ice skating, so it all equals out.” Said Seph with a smirk. I was about to add something to the conversation when the bell rang. I sighed and stood up, “Time for math.” “Hey I’d rather go to math than Chemistry.” My sister laughed. “If only you were identical twins, then could just switch places,” chuckled Nate. We all giggled, but then I thought about what he said and said, “How did you know we were fraternal twins?” I didn’t remember Melissa or me saying that to any of them. I mean it wasn’t a secret, but it really hadn’t come up in the convo. Melissa’s P.O.V. We both looked at Nate confused as we walked towards the exit. “Oh, Alecia told me and Chase in the lunch line.” “No I didn’t.” My sister said looking pretty confident in her answer. Both Chase and Nate looked at each other and then laughed as if there was some joke the rest of us weren’t getting. “Yes you did,” chimed in Chase. “Whatever you say…” Leesha said rolling her eyes. I was curious, now more than ever, about these guys. “Well I’ll show you to Chemistry,” said Ricky to me as he dumped out his plate of spaghetti that he had barely touched. “Oh, you’re in my class?” I said relieved I’d know someone in the class. “Oh, no I figured I’d just show you where the class is….” He said looking suddenly very serious. Then burst out into a roar of laughter. “Yeah I’m in your class.” I blushed in embarrassment. “I’ve noticed you do that a lot,” I heard Seph say as he came out of nowhere and opened the door for me. “Oh trust me she does,” Alecia said, elbowing me in the side. The group split up, me and Ricky heading for the second floor while Alecia and Chase headed to math. Everyone else just kind of disappeared. Me and Ricky agreed to be lab partners and sat at the same table. As the teacher introduced her self as Ms. Tipton, I caught Ricky out of the corner of my flipping aimlessly through a note book full of beautiful drawings. I didn’t want to interrupt Ms. Tipton, she seemed kind of short tempered so I wrote him a note. Whoa, Ricky did you draw those?? You’re an awesome artist. :] I passed him the note, and as soon as I had looked back at the teacher he’d already wrote me back. No, this is Seph’s. I borrowed it from him the other day. I’ll be sure to tell him you like it ;) I laughed at the thought but was so impressed with Seph, I didn’t think I could have been anymore impressed if I tried. Alecia’s P.O.V. I sat there watching as the teacher wrote fast across the board. She had been in the middle of teaching the class about Slope-intercept Form before I moved here and now I was completely lost. I looked at the board; all of her step-by-step examples and I just didn’t get it. She wrote class work to do on the board for us to do while she took attendance. I sat there staring at the problems lost in total confusion and then scanned the room and watched as everyone else seemed to be understanding. As I glanced around I saw that Connor was sitting right in front of the teachers desk, I wondered if there was a reason for that. I must have zoned out because before I’d even solved one problem the teacher was calling on students for the answers. Please don’t pick me. I thought to myself. As I tilted my head down letting my hair fall in front of my face, as if I were hiding. “Alecia, number 6?” My head snapped up at the sound of my name. I looked over at problem 6 and I could barely read the problem never mind answer it! “umm…” I said pretending to look down at my paper for the answer. “y=4x-16” said a voice from behind me. I glanced back and saw Chase leaning over my shoulder to see my lack of answers. “Alecia, the answer please,” “Y=4x-16…” I said not fully sure. “Correct, Blake number 7?” I didn’t bother to listen the following answers. I looked back to Chase and silently mouthed thanks with a smile. He smirked and went back to his work. Melissa’s P.O.V. Mrs. Tipton had given us a lab to work on for the remainder of class. We were supposed to be experimenting the different colors fire will turn when exposed to different chemical compounds. Well, that’s what me and Ricky would have been doing if I could get our fire lit. “Ok one more try,” I said for the 84th time. I’d spent about 15 minutes trying to light our Bunsen burner, failing each time, while Ricky simply sat there laughing. “If I don’t get it this time, I’m calling Ms. Tipton over.” I said. I struck the match and before I could get it near the gas the tiny flame had gone out. “Ahhhh” I groaned in frustration. “I give,” I said and turned around to get the teacher’s attention but I heard Ricky make that throat noise that you make when you want someone’s attention. I turned around and saw that the Bunsen burner was lit and ready to go. I looked quickly over to Ricky, he was looked quite pleased with himself. “How did you do that?!” I asked. Noticing that the matches were still in my hand. He laced his fingers together and stretched them, “Oh, umm let’s just say fire is… kind of my thing.” Written By A;ecia & Melyssa
Chapter 3
Melissa’s P.O.V
The next morning when my sister and I woke up, we both had the same nervous expressions on our faces. I put on my favourite white graphity-print t-shirt and some light blue jeans. I hope today goes well, I thought to myself before stepping into the bathroom to see what I had to work with. My hair was a frizzy mess and I quickly brushed it out and moved on to my teeth. Then my sister walked in rubbing her eyes, she never was a morning person. “Morning sleepy head,” I said playfully, she looked at me and smiled. She washed her face, brushed her teeth and went into her room to get dressed. I went down the stairs and poured cereal into a bowl for me and my sister. She usually took longer to get ready. I watched as she came down the stairs a little more awake and fully ready. “Cute outfit,” I said looking at what she was wearing, blackish, dark washed jeans, a purple tank top and a black cardigan. “Thanks, same to you,” she said giving a little wink. We ate breakfast mostly in silence. I think we were both really nervous about school, or perhaps just our new classmates. I got up and put my bowl in the dishwasher, my sister followed. Then we put on our converse and walked out the door prepared for anything.
Alecia’s P.O.V
Melissa and I walked through the doors of our new school, Walnut Grove Secondary. I looked around at all of the unfamiliar faces, until Emma walked over to us. “Hey,“ she said smiling, “What’s your first class?” My sister looked down at the folded piece of paper in her hand with our classes on it, “English,” She said grumbling. I giggled, I was the English/Science girl, she was more Math. I was good still, but its nice to have a sister to help you out. Emma smiled “Great! You class is with me. I can show you around. Mr. Turteltaub is pretty slack, he would let me.” “Turteltaub?” My sister and I asked in unison. “Yeah I know,” she said laughing. We followed her around the school listening to her talk about all the teachers on our list and about certain groups as we passed. “That’s Michelle and her friends,” she told us nodding towards them, “best watch out for them. I shook my head in agreement. I looked around at all the other cliques, and suddenly one caught my eye. Nate. I smiled. “What about them?” I asked pointing towards a group of surprisingly beautiful people.
Melissa’s P.O.V
“Oh yeah,” Emma said clearly remembering the day before. I looked over at my sister who’s eyes were glued to Nate. I tapped her arm. “Hey girly, and I’m the one who stares?” She blushed. I couldn’t blame her though, all of the boys were pretty good looking, especially the tall one with the dark hair. “Who’s that?” I asked Emma. She followed my gaze. “Oh that’s Seph,” She said. I think she said more but all I could do was look at him. “I wouldn’t even bother,” Emma stated once she noticed me staring, “he is a bit of a trouble maker anyhow.” “Yeah,” I said as I followed her down the hallway to our next class. We walked into our English class and sat down. Not only us, Seph and one of his other friends as well. My sister immediately moved from next to me to next to Emma. I gave her a dirty look, but surely Seph sat down next to me. He looked really nervous. He glanced at me and then to his friend. They both laughed. How rude. “I’m Seph,” he said so suddenly is startled me. “Hi,” I said weakly, shaking the hand he had out for me. Cold. “This is Nate,” he told me pointing next to him. I smiled. “I’m Melissa.” He smiled back.
Alecia’s P.O.V
“And you are?” Nate asked me. I blushed, “Alecia,” I told him. I could barely breathe, man he was cute. “Cute name,” He smiled and turned to face the front when the teacher came in. I exchanged a look with my sister, she mouthed Thank you. I nodded and faced the front as well. Mr. Turteltaub went on about the importance of grammar, and then gave us a worksheet. I sped through it and watched my sister. Seph was trying to help her with it. Cute really. He almost looked like he was keeping a distance, did she smell bad? Doubtful, I would have noticed. I looked over at Nate and found him looking at me. I blushed and looked away. I couldn’t help but notice what beautiful brown eyes he had, almost as if they were glowing. Sadly the class ended and me and my sister headed off to our next which we also had with Seph, and the girl from their group. Mely sat with Seph which left me to sit with her. I was kind of jealous, she was beautiful. I looked at her and she smiled. “I’m Laila.” I smiled back, “Alecia. I’m new.” She laughed, “I kind of guessed, you know your really pretty!” That was out of the blue! “Umm, thanks?” I said a little unsure. “Haha! Sorry, I just couldn’t help but notice. I’m not the only one.” She giggled and I blushed. I’m the pretty one? Ha! When was the last time she looked in the mirror. We sat in silence for a minute or so and I listening to my sister shamelessly flirt with Seph. She did nothing but blush that whole class.
Melissa’s P.O.V
“She said you were pretty?” I asked my sister as we walked towards the cafeteria. “Yeah, it was kind of odd, and she also said she wasn’t the only one that thought so? What the heck does that mean?” She practically yelled. Here we thought this was going to be a bad day, turns out its awesome here. I thought about Seph for a short moment, he was sooo nice. “Well, Leesha its true you are really pretty,” I said smiling at her. “Well you are to Mely, we are twins, well fraternal twins.” She just continued to rant, and truth be told I tuned it out because I knew she was just thinking aloud. We made our way into the lunch line to buy food, and looked around for a table. “What do you want?” Alecia asked me. “Um, oh pizza and veggies?” I said a little unsure, and she smiled. “Ok then go get a seat you weirdo that’s kind of the point,” I blushed and walked off to pretty much the only empty table left. I watched as Alecia stood in the line to get our lunchs when someone came over.
Alecia’s P.O.V
I stood in line and felt someone come stand behind me. I turned around to see it was Nate! He was standing with a tall, spiky-haired boy. Nate smiled, “Alecia right?” I tried really hard to say something but all that came out was “Mhmm,” I just couldn’t believe how incredibly cute he was, and on top of that his voice sounded like a perfect harmony, gentle and inviting, and he smelled wonderful. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it however. “Oh, I’m sorry this is Chase,” He told me gesturing towards his friend. I smiled. “What are your next two classes?” I asked trying to say something that was more then just a sound. “Oh, well I have Math, and then Bio.” Nate told me. Chase didn’t say much he kinda just looked at me with a worried glance. Weird. I bought mine and my sisters lunchs and sat down with her. Nate and Chase following with quite a bit of distance. “Oh hi Laila,” I waved as I sat down and she smiled. Looking from me to Nate. I shook it off not wanting to think much of it. “I was just telling Melissa here how cool it would be if we hung out this weekend. You know maybe go skating,” She told me. I burst out in a fit of laughter and they all looked at me funny. I cleared my throat and collected myself. “I mean, well my sister and I, are kind of clumsy.” I said blushing. “Oh that’s ok, I can help out,” Seph said coming over with another friend. “Ricky,” He stated sitting next to Melissa. “Sounds good, she said smiling.
